Points Of Interest

I would like some points of interest on the map to encourage exploration.

My idea is to randomly spawn landers around the map with randomized items in them. Then you would have a reason to go exploring in your rover; maybe you would get lucky and find some trader-exclusive items like seeds or something else not native to your planet/moon.

The landers should probably not be filled with stuff; maybe one crate or even half a crate would be enough to not make things too overpowered. Some could have portable tanks with something in them as well. If the tank content could be randomized outside the standard spawnable tanks, that could make things even more interesting. Maybe you would find some ozone or polluted water. ^^
If mixtures can be made, that is even better. You could find a mix of hydrogen and nitrous oxide that explodes if you take it into a hot environment.

The landers would need to be protected from the environment, either by making them indestructible or by spawning them inside some kind of protection. This would ensure that the storms don't destroy them all.

As for finding them, you should not be able to do so with a tracker, as this would detract from the exploration.

To alleviate the need for tweaking, the number of landers and average number of unique items in each one could be made into a mod setting.
