Overview

Active Vent (StructureActiveVent) in Stationeers: device, hash -1129453144, 100 W. With build steps, 47 IC10 logic values and connection diagram.

The active vent connects a pipe network with the room it sits in. It has two modes:

  • 0 Outward: blows gas from the pipe into the room,
  • 1 Inward: sucks gas from the room into the pipe.

It moves at most 10 kPa per tick. When it stops is set by two limit pressures, both readable and writable:

ModePressureExternal (room)PressureInternal (pipe)
Outwardupper limit: blows until the room reaches it – factory value 101.325 kPalower limit: only blows while the pipe has more – factory value 0
Inwardlower limit: only sucks while the room has more – factory value 0upper limit: sucks until the pipe reaches it – factory value 50,662.5 kPa

Important: every write to Mode – even with the same value – resets both limits to these factory values. So write Mode first and the pressures after a yield – according to the game code the reset only runs after the chip's tick and would overwrite pressures from the same tick. Only write Mode when the direction really changes. In Inward mode it only draws gas, no liquid. On top of that there are On, Open, Lock and a long list of readings for the gas in the pipe (…Output).

It needs 100 W and has two ports: pipe, plus power and data. Without power it moves nothing – for a simple pressure equaliser without power there is the Passive Vent.

With a Gas Sensor and a chip you keep the room pressure inside a band, for example between 95 and 101 kPa. The complete program is in IC10: control a device by name.

Example: address by name

Reads Setting, shows the value on the IC housing and writes On. Name the device with the labeller first; devices with the same name are addressed together.
