Overview
Hand Drill (ItemDrill) in Stationeers: tool, hash 2009673399. With recipe and 4 IC10 logic values.
The Hand Drill takes things apart, it does not build. In the game's build steps it is never a build tool, but it is the deconstruction tool in 383 structures – more than any other tool. In 346 of them it removes the first build stage and gives you the kit back. Do not confuse it with the Mining Drill, which digs rock.
It needs a battery cell in slot 0. Through logic it reports Power and knows Activate; for the battery slot, Charge and ChargeRatio are readable.
Every deconstruction stage carries a consumption value between 0 and 2000 in the game data – small parts such as tables sit at 0 to 2, the airlock, furnaces or the active vent at 500 to 2000. For the battery that number does not matter, according to the game code: the drill draws a flat 1000 J for every finished stage, whatever the value says. Idling and just spinning cost nothing.
| Cell | Deconstruction stages per charge |
|---|---|
| Battery Cell (Small) (36,000 J) | 36 |
| Battery Cell (Large) (288,000 J) | 288 |
| Battery Cell (Nuclear) (2,304,000 J) | 2304 |
So a table costs exactly as much as one stage of the airlock. When rebuilding, count stages, not device size: ten devices with three deconstruction stages each need 30,000 J and almost empty the small starting cell.
The Mk II Drill (tier 2) is listed as a substitute in the game data. The Hand Drill is made in the Tool Manufactory from iron and copper. More on deconstruction is in Tools at a glance: which one you need for what.
