Overview
Gas Sensor (StructureGasSensor) in Stationeers: device, hash -1252983604, 1 W. With build steps, 36 IC10 logic values and connection diagram.
The gas sensor measures the air where it is mounted: Pressure, Temperature, TotalMoles and the fraction of every gas (RatioOxygen, RatioCarbonDioxide and so on). All values are read-only – the sensor is the starting point of almost any control loop.
It has a single data port and needs 1 W. For gas in pipes there is the Pipe Analyzer.
One value needs care: Combustion does not only report a real fire but already a spark. A wall heater creates a spark every tick – so next to one the sensor reports fire all the time.
Since sensors usually come in numbers, addressing by name pays off: give all sensors in a room the same name and read the average with batch mode 0. A complete example is in IC10: control a device by name.
