Overview
Transformer (Small) (StructureTransformerSmall) in Stationeers: device, hash -890946730, 10 W. With build steps, 11 IC10 logic values and connection diagram.
The small transformer passes at most 5,000 W from its input network to its output network. Setting decides exactly how much; it never passes more than is offered at the input. It needs 10 W itself and stays on even when power runs short.
5,000 W is exactly the limit of normal cable. That makes it the standard part when a branch of normal cable hangs on a big network: the flow in the branch can never rise above Setting, no matter how much is generated or stored in front of it. A cable only burns when the flow is above its limit. If more generators hang behind the transformer, though, they add up – then set 4,500 W instead and put a 5 kW fuse into the branch.
The input carries power and data, the output power only. A chip on the main network can therefore control the transformer, but cannot see the devices in the branch behind it. If the chip is meant to sit in the branch, use the Transformer (Medium), whose data port is on the output. The Transformer Reversed (Small) only swaps the sides of input and output; there too the data stays on the input.
A fresh transformer passes nothing until Setting is turned up – according to the game data in steps of 100 W, finely in 10 W.
It is built from one Kit (Transformer Small) and sits on a wall or floor in a single cell. Where transformers belong is explained in Sizing cables, fuses and transformers correctly and Batteries and storage: sizes, charging, discharging, a transformer in between.
