Overview
Transformer (Large) (StructureTransformer) in Stationeers: device, hash -1423212473, 10 W. With build steps, 11 IC10 logic values and connection diagram.
The large transformer connects two networks in one direction: it takes power at its input and offers at most its Setting at its output – and never more than is offered at the input. Up to 50,000 W are possible. That keeps the flow on the output network below a limit you choose yourself.
It has three ports: power input, power output and a data port of its own. That makes it the favourite part for control networks – a chip can reach it without hanging on either of the two power networks. On switches the whole branch behind it, Setting limits it; Maximum shows the upper limit.
A fresh transformer has Setting 0 and passes nothing. Turn it up on the device – according to the game data in steps of 1,000 W, finely in 100 W – or set the value with a chip.
Typical uses:
- between the output of one battery and the input of a second – without a transformer any cable burns there;
- in front of a branch of normal cable, with
Settingbelow 5,000 W; - as a group switch for load shedding, see Backup power and load shedding: separating networks, priorities, IC10;
- as a coupling between two base networks that only exchange power when needed.
It needs 10 W itself and stays on even when power runs short. It is built in one step from the Kit (Transformer Large) and occupies 2 × 3 × 2 small cells. Smaller wall transformers are the Transformer (Medium) (25,000 W) and the Transformer (Small) (5,000 W). More on sizing in Sizing cables, fuses and transformers correctly.
