Updated terms: data storage, chatbot and moderation
New version of the terms of 21 Oct 2026: no right to permanent storage, rules for the new chatbot and clear levels for violations in the community – with an unban request. Objections until 4 Nov 2026.
I have revised the terms (version 2026-10-21). What is new:
Data storage and data loss (§ 2 (3), § 8)
- No right to permanent storage: even if backups exist, data can be lost in whole or in part through technical failures, outages, errors or attacks – such as account and profile data, IC10 academy progress and certificates, badges, IC10 scripts, posts, messages, tickets or gallery images.
- Back up yourself: back up what matters to you, for example via the data export under “My account → Data” or by copying your scripts. Data that only lives in your browser is lost when you clear your browser data.
- Liability: § 8 applies to lost data. I remain fully liable for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health; otherwise liability is excluded as far as the law allows.
Chatbot (§ 7c)
- The chatbot is available only with an account and a confirmed email address, free of charge and with a daily limit.
- Answers are generated automatically by an AI language model of Anthropic PBC; I do not review them beforehand. They may be wrong – including IC10 code. Check code before using it and back up your save.
- Please do not enter personal data. I do not store conversations.
- Abuse, such as asking for access data, other people’s data or internals of the site, leads in stages to a warning, a 24-hour block and a permanent chatbot block, and if it happens again also to an account ban.
Moderation, sanctions and unban requests (§ 6a, § 6d, § 9)
- Strong profanity, insults, threats and dangerous links are not published in the forum, chat, private messages or profile text. Mild swear words are still just replaced with asterisks.
- Every blocked post counts as a violation for 90 days. The levels: warning, posting bans for 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days and only as a last resort an account ban for 30 days. Anyone who reaches the last level again afterwards is banned permanently.
- You can see everything under My account → Warnings. False alarm? A support ticket is enough.
- Against an account ban there is the unban request: after signing in, on the page or by email. A human decides on every request.
Automated decisions
Warnings and bans in moderation and the chatbot are made automatically (Art. 22 GDPR). You can always ask for a human to review them, give your point of view and contest the decision. Section 23 of the privacy policy explains how.
In addition, IC10 academy progress from your browser can now only be transferred to your account within 48 hours after registering (§ 7b). The privacy policy and the disclaimer have been updated accordingly.
What you need to do: gallery uploads, certificates, team applications, new wishes and the chatbot ask for your consent to the new version once – one click, the notice is at the top of the page. Everything else keeps working without it. If you do not object by 4 Nov 2026, the new version also applies to all other features from then on (§ 11). A short note via the contact page is enough to object.
