Better protection in the community: insults and dangerous links are blocked
Strong profanity, phishing addresses and link shorteners no longer make it into the forum, chat or messages. There are clear levels, an overview under “My account” and an unban request.
To keep the forum, chat and private messages a pleasant place, the site now checks posts more strictly before they appear. This also applies to the profile text.
What is blocked
- Strong profanity, insults and threats – also in altered spelling. Mild swear words are still just replaced with asterisks.
- Dangerous links: links to program files such as .exe, .bat, .msi, .ps1, .jar, .apk or .dll, link shorteners, links to IP addresses and imitated addresses of well-known services.
- Normal links to Steam, GitHub, YouTube, Imgur, Reddit, Discord invites, the Stationeers wiki and this site work as before. Only links pointing directly to program files are blocked there too.
The levels
Every blocked post counts for 90 days:
- Warning
- 24-hour posting ban in the affected area
- 7-day posting ban in the affected area
- 30-day posting ban for chat, forum and messages
- Account ban for 30 days – only as a last resort. Anyone who reaches level 5 again afterwards is banned permanently.
Phishing and dangerous files go straight to level 3. The short spam brake for too many messages in a short time stays and does not count towards the levels.
Transparency and objections
- Under My account → Warnings you can see all warnings, bans and blocked posts and what the next violation would mean.
- False alarm? A support ticket is enough. If the team withdraws a violation, its level and ban no longer apply.
- If an account is banned, signing in with the correct password shows the reason, the end date and a form for an unban request. Alternatively there is the page Request an unban or an email to support@stationeers.de. A human decides on every request.
