A better way to search and select different items in the fabricators

Under review by dunpealhunter87 on Oct 26, 2026

I am not sure what would be a good way to handle this, but one thing is in my opinion clear: the old way of searching items to make in the fabricators is not working.

I mean, its just a long list of items that keep getting bigger the more mods are being added. I really would like something that gives me more information on what i am actually printing without reverting to the stationpedia or out of game.

I know that there are IC10 chips together with consoles that sorta do what i would want, but its not quite there yet. Besides, you still need additional items for that to work, like the IC10 chips, the consoles, wires and power. I very much would like something "out of the box" inside of the fabricators (pun intended).

I would be very grateful if you could make that interface.

Do you mean basically all the fabricators with a build in stationpedia?

I'm only asking to get a better understanding:)

By sounds of it I think you looking at saving time researching and opening and closing UI?

because I'm not sure how that would be implemented because there already a enhanced stationpedia mod already released.

No i do not mean a build in stationpedia. I meant something more than just a long list of items from the fabricators. The autolathe can print out 46 items on standard, without any mods installed. There has to be a better way to organize the items you need to build than just an endless list of stuff IMHO.

the best way to organize it to categorize the standard item and mods, then incorporate a interface in to each fabricator so that then you could simply search a mod where it would then show a list available item depending on the tier. i.e someone could type "Dominik1199" on autolathe and it would only show a list of his mod recipes.

this could work if it was just strictly standard and dominik mods.

the issue would be to then having search though all the other mods to then add them to there appropriate fabricator and tier. mod file recipes is just one big list with different tiers and fabricator and costs. then keep it updated with changes and new mods

so overall it may be time consuming to make, considering Dominik has over 40 mods (about 31 with recipes) to maintain, not forgetting he has the website, his steam workshop and RL duties as well and i'm sure he is in the lab cooking up another amazing mod.

In some ways it would be good to have once machine that can make everything but you need to put modules in it or something which is the same as the normal machines to enable them and it has a nice interactive UI with search, categories and ability to set number of items etc you want and outputs things in stacks if the item can stack and you ask for multi. Not sure if the game has categories already on items or not

I will be releasing the "Fabrication Station" in the next 24 hours that may meet your needs. it is more based on the idea i had above of having all the machines in one but it has categories and search so it may be what you are looking for with queues and other features. That said Dominik1199's mods always look so much better than mine and he puts other great features in so you may want his instead it was just my idea of them all being in one inspired me for my next play though

@seer, Thank you so mutch! this was EXACTLY what i was looking for! I am trying it out now but this looks very polished and seems to work much, much better than the old fabricators ingame. Thank you again.
