High Volume Gas Canister

The High Volume Gas Canister holds 83 instead of 64 litres and withstands 25,331 kPa – two and a half times the normal Canister. It fits every slot of the GasCanister type, so the suit, jetpacks and the welding torch as well.

Both together make it the most productive canister. At 75 % of the limit (about 19,000 kPa) and 20 °C it holds 19,000 · 83 / (8.3144 · 293.15) ≈ 647 mol. The Canister reaches about 200 mol in the same case, the Gas Canister (Smart) about 399 mol.

The catch: it does not appear in any 0.2.6428 recipe, nor in the trader lists or the starting and respawn kits, and no part of the game code refers to it. All that is certain is that it is spawnable, so it appears in the spawn menu in creative mode. It has no German name in the game either. So you cannot plan on it. If you have one, treat it like the other canisters: pressure rises with temperature, and above the limit the canister takes damage after more than 5 ticks and bursts.

At such high pressure the temperature deserves a look. A canister filled to 23,000 kPa at 20 °C already reaches 23,000 · 323.15 / 293.15 ≈ 25,354 kPa at 50 °C and is above the limit.
