Overview
Ore Detector (ItemOreDetector) in Stationeers: tool, hash 259902657. With recipe and 6 IC10 logic values.
The ore detector helps you look for a specific ore instead of digging blindly. Its mode chooses what it shows. According to the game data there are 13 modes:
iron, coal, copper, gold, ice, nickel, lead, silver, silicon, oxite, volatiles, cobalt and nitrice.
Uranium is missing – you cannot search for it with the detector. It only ever shows one kind. If you see nothing, check the mode first.
It runs on a battery cell and draws a constant 25 W while switched on. Worked example: the game calculates in ticks of 0.5 s, so "25 W" means 25 J per tick. An Battery Cell (Small) with 36,000 J lasts 36,000 / 25 = 1,440 ticks, i.e. 720 s or 12 minutes. Switch it off while you dig. Through logic it knows On, Mode, Power and Error.
It is printed in the tool manufactory from gold 5, copper 5 and Ingot (Solder) 2. So you already need solder and therefore a gas furnace. Next to the drill it fits into the second tool slot of the Mining Belt. Where each ore lies is explained in Mining: finding and extracting ore.
