Solder is the alloy of electronics. According to the recipe data it appears in just over 40 recipes, mainly in the electronics printer and the tool manufactory – among them the IC10 chip, and 8 ingots in each of the four printer mods. One ingot counts as 1 unit of solder; ingots stack up to 500.
The recipe in the furnace or advanced furnace:
- 50 % iron and 50 % lead,
- 350 to 550 K (77 to 277 °C),
- from 1,000 kPa.
What sets it apart is the upper limit: solder is one of the few alloys for which the furnace can be too hot. If you have just made steel, let the furnace cool down first.
A worked example for the pressure: for 1,000 kPa at 450 K you need n = 1,000 · 1,000 / (8.3144 · 450) ≈ 267 mol of gas in the 1,000 litre furnace. At such a low temperature you need more gas than for steel (134 mol at 900 K), but hardly any fuel.
Use Ingot (Iron) and Ingot (Lead) instead of ore. Then you bring no exhaust along and have less to correct. In the recycler a solder ingot falls apart into 0.5 iron and 0.5 lead. All windows are compared in Furnaces and alloys.
