The Cryogenic Suit Upgrade is an item of the "SuitMod" slot type. Its name promises a cold-weather upgrade for the suit. In the current game version, however, you cannot get hold of it.
The 0.2.6428 game data show three things:
- No recipe produces it.
- It is marked as not spawnable and has no trade value.
- Only six suits have a slot of the SuitMod type – Normal Suit, Space Suit, Hard Suit, Insulated Suit, Advanced AC Suit and Emergency Suit – and all of them are not spawnable either. The Eva Suit, the Hardsuit and the HARM Suit have no such slot.
Whether and when the part becomes usable is not in the data. Until then, the only help against cold is what already exists: a suit with little heat exchange such as the Hardsuit, and breathing air that is not too cold. According to the game code the lungs already take damage below −10 °C – on Europa, with −139 to −149 °C outside, that is a serious matter.
