Overview
Daylight Sensor (StructureDaylightSensor) in Stationeers: device, hash 1076425094, 10 W. With build steps, 10 IC10 logic values and connection diagram.
The daylight sensor is the eye of your solar array. It provides these values:
| Logic value | Meaning |
|---|---|
Activate | 1 in sunlight, otherwise 0 – also 0 in shade |
Horizontal, Vertical | direction of the sun, relative to the sensor |
SolarAngle | angle between sensor and sun (in mode Default) |
SolarIrradiance | solar irradiance, 0 without light |
Mode | 0 Default, 1 Horizontal, 2 Vertical |
Mode only decides what SolarAngle contains: in modes 1 and 2 it holds one of the two directions instead of the angle. Horizontal and Vertical are always available. If your chip relies on SolarAngle, set the mode yourself to DaylightSensorMode.Default.
All angles refer to the sensor itself – how you mount it changes the values. Mount it facing exactly like the panels it is meant to control. If it points straight up, SolarAngle is the sun's distance from the zenith: 0° at noon with the sun right above, 90° at the horizon. The sun's height is then 90° minus SolarAngle.
The sensor needs 10 W and is made from the Kit (Sensors), which also builds gas, motion and occupancy sensors. A complete tracking program is in Solar arrays: alignment, tracking, day and night, the basics in the IC10 academy: sun angle.
