Overview
Solar Panel (StructureSolarPanel) in Stationeers: device, hash -2045627372, up to 500 W output. With build steps, 8 IC10 logic values and connection diagram.
The solar panel is rated at 500 W. That is not a hard limit but the reference value of a damping: up to 1.4 times that (700 W raw power) everything gets through, above it the game damps logarithmically. So on Mars it delivers about 510 W in full sun, on the Moon about 770 W, on Venus about 1,160 W. At night it delivers nothing – without a battery on the same network everything switches off.
It has a single port for power and data. The logic values Horizontal and Vertical aim it, Charge shows what it currently delivers, Ratio the efficiency of its alignment and Maximum the output at perfect alignment without damage. Panels with the same name can be tracked together with one sbn – exactly what addressing by name is for, see IC10: control a device by name.
It is built in two stages: place the kit, then insert a glass sheet. The kit comes from the electronics printer.
In a storm it takes damage no matter how it is aimed: according to the game code, every tick there is a 10 % chance of losing 0.5 % of its health, about 6 % per minute on average. Damage lowers the output by the same ratio. The heavy variant Solar Panel (Heavy) is protected against this.
An example: a small base with 351 W of base load needs one panel in full sun, but a battery for the night and enough surplus during the day to charge it. How much sun reaches your world is shown by the Solar calculator.
