Overview
Solar Panel (Dual) (StructureSolarPanelDual) in Stationeers: device, hash -539224550, up to 500 W output. With build steps, 8 IC10 logic values and…
The dual panel works like the Solar Panel: rated 500 W, aimed with Horizontal and Vertical, the current output is in Charge, the alignment efficiency in Ratio. The difference lies in the ports: power and data each have their own.
That lets you run the output over one cable to the battery and the data over another to the control chip. The chip that tracks the array can then sit on a control network of its own that does not hang on the solar line. The data cable must not touch a power cable of another network, otherwise the networks join.
It is built from the same Kit (Solar Panel) as the standard panel: place the kit, insert a glass sheet. A heavy version exists as the Solar Panel (Heavy Dual).
On the dual panel too, every deviation from the sun costs output: the efficiency is 1 − 2 · sin(deviation ÷ 2), so about 48 % at 30° and nothing from 60°. How to track an array and what it delivers on your world is in Solar arrays: alignment, tracking, day and night; the control network is described in Backup power and load shedding: separating networks, priorities, IC10.
