New: Nuclear Power Plant 1.0.0
Reactor, steam turbine and cooling tower for about 1 MW of power – with radiation, meltdown, nuclear waste bunker and radiation protection.
The Nuclear Power Plant is on the Workshop. A whole power station with a closed loop, every part with a custom model:
- Power plant: boiling water reactor with 6 fuel rods, Steam Turbine 1 MW and cooling tower with steam plumes. The control room desk shows everything on three displays and runs the plant in AUTO.
- Warning levels: pre-warning, alarm, scram and core damage, each with its own sound and the time to the next level.
- Meltdown: explosion, wreck and a contaminated zone. Can be switched off; in hardcore there is no automatic scram.
- Radiation: dose per player, Geiger counter, radiation monitor and radiation detector. The radiation suit and radiation helmet together keep out 95 %.
- Fuel and disposal: fuel rod factory, nuclear waste bunker for decay and reprocessing plant: 3 spent rods become one new rod and one nuclear waste barrel.
For the full 1 MW the power network needs Extreme Cable or Power Cable+. As with Steam Power, all structures are fireproof and only accept the right pipe type. The server and all players need the mod.
