What you learn today
- Quiz on yield, sleep, labels and jumps
Since this week your programs run permanently. With that came the first traps that strike without an error message. The quiz checks them:
- yield and main loop: 128 instructions per tick, 0.5 seconds per tick, and a chip that runs off the end stops for good.
- sleep: waits seconds, makes the chip deaf and never belongs on line 0.
- Labels and jumps: labels stand alone on their line,
jalways jumps, beqand co. only when the condition holds. - Jumps against zero:
bltz, bgtz, blez, bgez– build the difference first, then jump. - Counters: one per tick, reset by button or
mod.
You pass from 60 %.
Tip
For questions about ticks the simulator in the IC10 coder helps: after every tick it shows on which line the chip stands.
