What you learn today
- Quiz on error codes, probes and test cases
This week was about errors that are loud and errors that stay silent. For review:
- Error codes: 39 numbers from 0 to 38. In everyday play mostly 4, 6, 9, 18, 20 and 25. A second chip only sees 0 or 1 via
Error, and the line viaLineNumber. - Silent errors: NaN from Average, −inf from Maximum, the program end without a loop and wrong units.
sgt ok t 0catches NaN and −inf for temperatures. - Probes: write intermediate values to the housing, to displays or into a Logic Memory, count edges.
- Simulator: breakpoint, step and tick, history, Δ/tick and couplings.
- Test cases: normal case, edge case, failure – as a table before you program, and all of them after every change.
You pass from 60 %.
