Overview

Ice (Nitrice) (ItemNitrice) in Stationeers: ice, hash -1499471529, stack 50.

Nitrice is frozen nitrogen. According to the game data every piece contains 22.5 mol of Nitrogen and 2.5 mol of Nitrous Oxide and melts from 273.15 K (0 °C).

In the underground profile it has weight 20, and one extraction yields 5 to 9 pieces. Mimas has nitrice, Venus and Vulcan do not.

You mainly need nitrogen as a filler gas: breathing air is not only oxygen, and according to the combustion table nitrogen takes part in no combustion as fuel or oxidiser. Nitrous oxide, on the other hand, is an oxidiser. With methane it reacts at 1 : 1 to carbon dioxide and nitrogen.

If you want pure nitrogen, melt the ice in the Ice Crusher and remove the nitrous oxide with a filtration unit. More about the ice types in Ores and what they contain.
