Overview

Ice (Water) (ItemIce) in Stationeers: ice, hash 1217489948, stack 50.

Water ice is your most important source of water. According to the game data every piece contains 20 mol of Water and 5 mol of Nitrogen and melts from 273.15 K (0 °C). At 0.018 litres per mol, 20 mol of water is about 0.36 litres.

In the underground profile water ice has weight 20, and one extraction yields 5 to 9 pieces. Not every world has it: Venus and Vulcan have no ice at all, Mimas lacks water ice but has the other ice types.

The cleanest way to turn it into water is the Ice Crusher. It sends gas and liquid into separate pipes, so water and nitrogen are split right away. If you simply leave the ice in a warm room, it melts there and the gas ends up in the room air.

The nitrogen is not waste: it works as a filler gas for breathing air. More about all ice types in Ores and what they contain.
