Overview
Ice (Oxite) (ItemOxite) in Stationeers: ice, hash -1805394113, stack 50.
Oxite is frozen oxygen with a little nitrogen. According to the game data every piece contains 22.5 mol of Oxygen and 2.5 mol of Nitrogen, so 90 % oxygen. It melts from 273.15 K (0 °C).
After iron ore it is the most common vein underground (weight 60); one extraction yields 5 to 9 pieces. Mimas has oxite, Venus and Vulcan do not.
A worked example: a single piece in 1,000 litres at 20 °C gives
p = 22.5 · 8.3144 · 293.15 / 1,000 ≈ 55 kPa of oxygen
plus about 6 kPa of nitrogen. A few pieces are enough for the breathing air of a small room.
The best way to melt oxite is the Ice Crusher, with the gas going into a tank. Together with Ice (Volatiles) you also have everything for furnace fuel: methane burns with oxygen at 2 : 1, so one piece of oxite is enough for a little over two pieces of volatiles.
