Ladder

The ladder is the space-saving way up. It sits on one face of the large grid and spans a whole level, so 2 m high. In the small grid it takes three cells stacked on top of each other, according to the game data. It can only be rotated so that it stands against a wall – you cannot lay it on the floor or put it on the ceiling.

It is built from the Kit (Ladder) in a single step. The kit comes from the Autolathe and only costs iron. It also makes the ladder end, which finishes it off at the top. The ladder is removed with the angle grinder.

For several floors you stack ladders, one per level. A worked example: for a height difference of three levels, so 6 m, you need three ladders and a ladder end at the top.

Compared with the Stairs: the stairs need two large cells of floor area, the ladder only one wall face. The ladder also wins on material: its kit costs 2 iron, the stairs kit 15.
