Glass Sheets

The Autolathe makes glass sheets from 2 silicon per sheet, in 1 s and with 500 J. They stack up to 50.

According to the game data glass sheets are used up in 30 structures. The main groups:

• windows and doors: composite window, iron window, glass door, interior glass door, window shutter,
• consoles: console, console dual, console monitor,
• solar panels: every type, from the Solar Panel to the heavy 1x5 panels,
• plus cryo tubes and the telescope.

Plan enough silicon for a solar array: every glass sheet costs two silicon ingots, and silicon ore takes four times as long to mine as iron according to the game data. On the other hand silicon is very cheap to melt in the arc furnace at 100 J per ingot.
