What you learn today
- Monitor room pressure and oxygen
- Lock the door on low pressure
- Warning light and sound
A meteor hits the habitat module, a piece of wall is gone. The corridor in front still has air. Whoever opens the door without thinking now loses the corridor too – and stands in vacuum without a helmet. The pressure guard prevents that.
The devices
| Device | Name | Job |
|---|---|---|
| gas sensor | “Modul” | pressure and oxygen in the module |
| composite door | “Modultuer” | door from the corridor into the module |
| LED display | “Moduldruck” | pressure in the module |
| flashing light | “Modulwarnung” | warning |
| klaxon | “Modulalarm” | sound Sound.Danger |
The rules
- Underpressure: module pressure below 80 kPa. Then the door is closed and locked.
- Oxygen shortage: oxygen partial pressure below 16 kPa. The door stays usable, but there is a warning.
- On underpressure or oxygen shortage: warning light on, klaxon on, display red. Otherwise display green.
- Sensor gone: like underpressure – door closed and locked, alarm. Whoever does not know whether there is air behind it does not open.
- Once everything is fine again, the door is released. You open it yourself.
The core
slt under press MINPRESS
snan tmp press
or under under tmp # no sensor counts as underpressure
mul po2 press share
slt low po2 MINO2
or alarm under low
For the door it is enough to write both values on under: Open 0 and Lock 1. Without underpressure you write Lock 0 and leave Open alone – otherwise you would slam the door in the face of anyone walking through.
Milestones
- All fine: door free, no alarm, display green.
- Underpressure: door closed and locked.
- Underpressure: warning light, klaxon and red display.
- Oxygen shortage: alarm, but the door stays free.
- Recovery: lock and alarm disappear.
- Sensor gone: door closed and locked, alarm.
Only write Open when you really want to close the door. A sbn … Open 0 every tick turns a door into a wall.
Project task
Task
Build the pressure guard from the lesson. Devices: gas sensor “Modul”, composite door “Modultuer”, LED display “Moduldruck”, flashing light “Modulwarnung”, klaxon “Modulalarm”.
- Underpressure (below 80 kPa) or sensor gone: door
Open0 andLock1. OtherwiseLock0, leaveOpenalone. - Alarm on underpressure or oxygen partial pressure below 16 kPa: warning light, klaxon (
Sound.Danger), display red; otherwise green. - The display shows the pressure.
Milestones
- Milestone 1: all fine
- Milestone 2: underpressure – door closed and locked
- Milestone 3: underpressure – alarm
- Milestone 4: oxygen shortage – alarm, door free
- Milestone 5: recovery – all free
- Milestone 6: sensor gone – locked and alarm
Hints
Hint 1
Underpressure: slt, plus snan with or – no sensor counts as underpressure.
Hint 2
Alarm = underpressure or low oxygen: or alarm under low.
Hint 3
Door: always write Lock, Open 0 only on underpressure – skip past it with beqz under start.
