Overview
Basic Packaging Machine (AppliancePackagingMachine) in Stationeers: appliance, hash -749191906. With recipe.
The Basic Packaging Machine is an appliance for the appliance slot of a bench such as the Powered Bench. It has one output slot and puts food into cans. Each of its nine recipes takes 5 seconds and needs 1 steel for the can, most of them 1 oil as well.
| Canned food | Ingredients besides steel | Nutrition |
|---|---|---|
| Tomato Soup | 5 tomatoes, oil | 125 |
| corn soup | 5 corn, oil | 150 |
| pumpkin soup | 2 pumpkin, oil | 160 |
| canned mushrooms | 5 mushrooms, oil | 120 |
| canned rice pudding | 5 rice, oil | 100 |
| canned edamame | 15 soy, oil | 100 |
| canned powdered eggs | 5 eggs, oil | 100 |
| canned french fries | 1 potato, oil | 120 |
| canned condensed milk | 200 ml milk | 200 |
The big advantage: none of these canned foods decays. Cooked vegetables, in contrast, decay at rates around 0.0002. For supplies that are meant to keep, the can is the right form.
Whether the can also pays off in nutrition depends on the vegetable. Five cooked tomatoes add up to 5 · 25 = 125 – exactly as much as the tomato soup. With rice, however, five cooked portions give 5 · 10 = 50, but the rice pudding 100.
You get steel from steel ingots or from an empty can, oil from the Reagent Processor. The big sister with chute ports is the Advanced Packaging Machine. More in Food and cooking: nutrition, mood and shelf life.
