The Liquid Canister is the bottle for water, liquid carbon dioxide and other liquids. Its slot type is LiquidCanister. So it does not fit the suit's gas slots, but it does fit the Fire Extinguisher (Reusable), the coolant tank of the HARM Suit and the Liquid Tank Storage on a liquid pipe.
12.4 litres sounds small, but for a liquid it is a lot of substance. Water takes 0.018 litres per mole. Completely full that would be 12.4 / 0.018 ≈ 689 mol. For comparison: a 64-litre gas canister at 7,600 kPa and 20 °C holds about 200 mol.
Careful when filling: with liquids, pressure tells you little about the fill level. According to the game code, liquid pressure only counts once the liquid takes up almost the whole space – and then it shoots up. So fill by amount, not by pressure, and leave room.
The fire extinguisher adds one rule: the filling must be at least 99 % non-flammable substances, such as water, nitrogen or carbon dioxide.
The pressure limit is the same as for the gas canister, 10,132.5 kPa. The Liquid Canister (Smart) takes more, with 18.4 litres and 20,265 kPa. The Liquid Canister is made in the Hydraulic Pipe Bender from iron.
