Overview
Solid Fuel (Hydrocarbon) (ItemSolidFuel) in Stationeers: ingot, hash -365253871, stack 500. With recipe.
Solid fuel is refined coal. It contains 1 unit of hydrocarbon and stacks up to 500 – ten times as much per slot as coal.
The recipe in the furnace or advanced furnace:
- hydrocarbon from Ore (Coal),
- from 950 K and from 1,000 kPa,
- and the gas in the furnace has to be pure Methane (rule
Pure).
The third condition makes the recipe tricky. Any foreign gas gets in the way – including combustion leftovers such as carbon dioxide, and the gas the coal itself brings along when melting (13 mol per piece). So you need hot, pure methane and a way to get the foreign gas out of the furnace.
The result is worth it. According to the game data its game value EnergyPerSecond is 200,000, twice that of coal, and its burn energy is twice as large too. As an item of the ore class, solid fuel fits into the slot of the Generator (Solid Fuel).
It works for steel as well, since steel accepts hydrocarbon as its carbon source. According to the data solid fuel releases no gas when melting – the cleanest steel recipe there is. Careful: flashpoint 323.15 K (50 °C), autoignition 373.15 K (100 °C).
