Overview
Advanced Composter (StructureAdvancedComposter) in Stationeers: device, hash 446212963, 10 W. With build steps, 18 IC10 logic values and connection diagram.
The advanced composter is the fixed composting plant for a larger base. Material enters the import slot through a chute input, the result leaves through the export slot and a chute output. It also has a liquid pipe inlet and separate power and data ports. Base draw is only 10 W.
It only accepts plants (crops and seed packets), decayed food, biomass and hay, not cooked dishes. It grinds each item into its stock in 1.5 s and keeps separate track of how much decayed food, plant and biomass is in there. While it grinds, Mode is 1 – it sets this itself, you cannot switch anything with it.
Composting starts at the push of the button or with Activate 1. It needs at least 3 items in stock (Quantity) and 20 mol of water in the liquid line. Every 60 s it turns 3 items and 20 mol of water into one fertiliser and draws an extra 100 W while doing so. If water or supply runs out, Activate drops back to 0 by itself. So a chip can simply write Activate 1 as soon as Quantity is at least 3.
The mix decides the quality: decayed food speeds up growth, plants raise the harvest, biomass makes it last longer. While composting it releases nitrogen, methane and a little heat into the room according to the Stationpedia.
It is built in two stages: place the kit, then attach 5 steel sheets with the welding torch. The tier 2 electronics printer makes the kit from 15 copper, 30 steel, 20 electrum and 5 solder. How compost fits into the cycle is explained in Compost, fertiliser and getting seeds.
