Overview
Powered Vent (StructurePoweredVent) in Stationeers: device, hash 938836756, 250 W. With build steps, 42 IC10 logic values and connection diagram.
The powered vent is the big brother of the Active Vent. It takes up 2 × 2 spots on the small grid, an area of 1 × 1 m, and moves up to 20 kPa per tick – twice as much as the active vent. In a cell of 8,000 litres at 20 °C that is about 66 mol per tick.
It has two modes: 0 Outward blows gas from the pipe into the room, 1 Inward sucks it from the room into the pipe. You set the target pressure for the room with PressureExternal. Unlike the active vent it has no separate target for the pipe (PressureInternal) and no Setting. On top of that come On, Lock and readings for the gas in the pipe (…Output).
Power, data and pipe each have their own port. Base draw is 250 W.
It is built in three steps:
- place the Kit (Powered Vent),
- fit two Kit (Pipe) with the screwdriver,
- attach two plastic sheets with the welding torch.
A calculation shows what it is good for: a room of four cells needs about 1,330 mol at normal pressure. At 66 mol per tick it would be filled after roughly 20 ticks, i.e. 10 seconds – provided the pipe network keeps up. That is ideal for airlocks and halls. Mind the walls, though: an iron wall only holds a 200 kPa difference. So let a chip with a Gas Sensor control the vent, see Building an airlock: layout, control, common mistakes.
