Overview
Turbo Volume Pump (Gas) (StructureTurboVolumePump) in Stationeers: device, hash 1310794736, 600 W. With build steps, 12 IC10 logic values and connection…
The turbo volume pump works like the Volume Pump: every tick it takes a fixed volume of gas at its input and pushes it into the network at its output, even against higher pressure. Its setting, however, runs from 0 to 100 instead of up to 10, and it ships at 50. On the mouse wheel the value jumps in steps of ten, with the fine adjustment in steps of one.
Two things differ from the small pump:
- The direction can be switched:
Mode0 means Right, 1 means Left. Placing it the wrong way round is no reason to take it down. - Power and data have separate ports. You need one power cable and one data cable.
How much it really moves depends on the network at the input. Per tick the pump can draw at most what is in there. A single gas pipe holds 10 litres. If it hangs on ten pipe pieces (100 L) at 100 kPa and 20 °C, that is n = 100 · 100 / (8.3144 · 293) ≈ 4.1 mol – no more arrives in that tick, however high the setting. An in-line tank in front of the input gives it the reserve it needs.
Base draw is 600 W, three times that of the small pump. In IC10 you switch it with On, set the amount with Setting and the direction with Mode. The kit comes from the Hydraulic Pipe Bender, and placing it takes one step. More on throughput and control in Pumps, valves and pressure regulators: which part for what and The volume pump in depth.
