Overview
Microwave (ApplianceMicrowave) in Stationeers: appliance, hash -1136173965. With recipe.
The Microwave is an appliance. It does not stand on its own but sits in an appliance slot of a bench such as the Powered Bench. The bench has two of these slots, a power and a data port, and needs 10 W itself.
You put ingredients in, and the appliance counts them as reagents – flour and sugar in grams, oil and milk in millilitres, eggs, potatoes and tomatoes as pieces. If the mix matches a recipe, the dish ends up in the output slot. The game data know 19 recipes. Two groups:
| Kind | Examples | Time |
|---|---|---|
| simple, one ingredient | Cooked Rice, cooked corn, mushrooms, tomato, pumpkin, soybeans, baked potato | 5 s |
| combined | Bread Loaf (200 g flour, 5 ml oil), muffin, burger, cake, pumpkin pie | 5 to 30 s |
Cooking pays off twice. First, nutrition rises: rice has 3 raw and 10 cooked; a potato 10 raw and 40 baked. Second, the mood penalty disappears – according to the game data raw potatoes have −0.5, raw rice, corn, pumpkin and mushrooms −0.25, and the cooked versions 0.
For the combined dishes you need intermediate products. Flour, sugar and oil come from the Reagent Processor, milk from the Chemistry Station.
If you want to connect the kitchen to chutes, use the Automated Oven: the same recipes, but with chute ports and IC10 logic. More in Food and cooking: nutrition, mood and shelf life.
