Overview
Medium Radiator (StructureMediumRadiator) in Stationeers: device, hash -975966237. With build steps, 40 IC10 logic values and connection diagram.
The medium radiator looks like its sibling, the Medium Convection Radiator: a panel of 1.5 × 1.5 m, one gas input, one gas output, 200 litres inside, no power. Its heat values, however, are spread very differently:
| Value | Medium radiator | Convection radiator |
|---|---|---|
| Radiation | 30.0 | 3.00 |
| Convection | 1.50 | 9.38 |
| Solar heating | 15.0 | 1.50 |
So it sheds its heat almost entirely through radiation – exactly what works in vacuum. On the Moon, on Mimas or on a station in space it is the right choice.
The high solar heating value is the downside: in direct sunlight it absorbs a lot of heat. A radiator standing in the sun during the day can warm a cooling loop instead of cooling it. So put it in the shade or set up the system so that it gets by with less cooling during the day.
Its logic list does contain Temperature, Pressure, the gas fractions plus EnergyRadiated and EnergyConvected, but it has no data port – no chip can reach these values. Its contents mix with both connected networks every tick; there is no direction. So measure with a Pipe Analyzer in front of and behind it whether the loop cools down. Setting only appears in the list and has no effect. A pump in the loop provides the flow.
It is built from the Kit (Medium Radiator) and one steel sheet attached with the welding torch. There is a separate version for liquid loops, and for very large amounts of heat the Large Extendable Radiator. More in Heat exchangers and heat transport: pipe to pipe, gas to liquid.

This thing is not on the data network itself. Read its values through the slot it sits in, or through db if the chip is inside it.
