Ingot (Hastelloy)

Hastelloy is rarely needed: according to the recipe data only nine recipes use it – the LArRE docks, the robotic arm, the night vision goggles, the HARM suit and the kit of the combustion deep miner. One ingot counts as 1 unit of hastelloy.

The recipe only exists in the Advanced Furnace:

• 50 % silver, 25 % nickel, 25 % cobalt,
• 950 to 1,000 K – the narrowest temperature window of all alloys,
• 25,000 to 30,000 kPa.

Add cobalt as Ore (Cobalt), silver and nickel preferably as ingots. One ingot of hastelloy uses 4 units of mix, i.e. 2 silver, 1 nickel and 1 cobalt ore – ten times that for 10 ingots.

Worked example: for 27,500 kPa at 975 K you need about 3,390 mol of gas in the 1,000 litre furnace. With only 50 K of leeway you have to heat carefully – above 1,000 K you have left the window. In the recycler an ingot only falls apart into 0.5 silver, 0.25 nickel and 0.25 cobalt – a quarter of what it cost.
