Overview
Ore (Cobalt) (ItemCobaltOre) in Stationeers: ore, hash -983091249, stack 50. With recipe.
Cobalt ore is rare (weight 10); one extraction yields 3 or 4 pieces. Every piece contains 1 unit of cobalt.
Cobalt is a special case: there is no cobalt ingot, and the arc furnace has no recipe for it either. You put the ore straight into the Advanced Furnace when a super alloy asks for it. Three do: Ingot (Astroloy), Ingot (Hastelloy) and Ingot (Stellite), each with 25 %. According to the recipe data the chemistry station also uses cobalt for a healing pill.
When melting, every piece releases 3 mol of Nitrogen and 1 mol of Methane. Methane is flammable – in the advanced furnace it mixes with your fuel, in an exhaust line with oxygen it can burn along.
With the Ore Detector in Cobalt mode you can look for the veins directly. More on the recipes in Super alloys in the advanced furnace.
