Overview
Large Satellite Dish (StructureLargeSatelliteDish) in Stationeers: device, hash 1913391845, 100 W. With build steps, 23 IC10 logic values and connection…
The large satellite dish is the tool for the most demanding traders. Its power range is 2,000 to 50,000 W according to the game data. Large traders and exotics need 6,000 to 8,000 W at the contact and only become visible at all from 250 and 100 W respectively (MinimumWattsVisible). The large dish gives you plenty of reserve here.
That comes at a price. The electronics printer makes the kit from 20 waspaloy, 50 inconel and 100 astroloy – three superalloys from the advanced furnace. It is built in seven stages: kit, 10 steel sheets (welding torch), wrench, screwdriver, another 10 steel sheets, 10 heavy cable coils and 10 plastic sheets. The structure measures about 7.9 × 5.8 × 8.2 m.
Power needs planning too. According to the game code the dish draws 100 W at rest, a tenth of Setting while resolving signals, and the full value of Setting during contact – not on top of the base draw, but instead of it. At 8,000 W that is 800 W while searching and 8,000 W while connecting. That is more than the 5,000 W normal cable carries; plan heavy cable, see Power grid basics.
More power shortens the wait: the contact builds up faster the further the arriving power lies above the contact's requirement. A large trader needing 8,000 W with 600 s contact time is connected after 300 s at 16,000 W, but draws 16 kW from the grid while doing so.
It is controlled like the small dish: Horizontal and Vertical for aiming, Setting for power, plus feedback such as SignalStrength, WattsReachingContact and MinimumWattsToContact. More in Trading: satellite dish, trader classes, landing pad.
