Overview
Deep Miner (StructureDeepMiner) in Stationeers: device, hash 265720906, 500 W. With build steps, 13 IC10 logic values and connection diagram.
The deep miner extracts ore without you having to go out. At full speed it delivers 10 or 11 pieces of Dirty Ore every 100 to 119 s, i.e. a little over 5 to 6.6 pieces per minute.
First it has to work its way down: the motor needs about 67 s to reach the full 200 RPM, then the drill head sinks 0.125 m per second down to bedrock at height 0 – 8 s per metre. Only there does production start. Ore veins on the way down are destroyed without any yield. If a structure is in the drill path, it stops with an error.
What the dirty ore contains depends on the location. Every world has a map of deep mining regions, and every region belongs to one of eleven profiles, from pure iron to gold and silver. The miner checks which region it stands in when it is placed and when the game loads. Its info display then shows the mix, the speed, the distance to bedrock and the progress. The region maps cover every world without gaps. If you want a different ore, build it somewhere else.
Power: 500 W base draw. The game calculates in ticks of 0.5 s, so that is 500 J per tick or 1,000 J per second – about 10,400 J per piece of ore. A Station Battery with 3,600,000 J runs it for 7,200 ticks, i.e. one hour. Setting can be written but has no effect.
You cannot empty the export slot by hand. Connect a chute to the output; as long as it is occupied, no new ore is added. From there it goes into the Centrifuge, which turns it into pure ores – but it needs 18 s per piece of dirty ore, so a single one only manages a little over half.
Placing it: the deep miner sits on the large 2 m grid and is about 7 m tall. In its cell at most 6,000 of 8,000 litres may be free – so it needs terrain underneath. The kit Kit (Deep Miner) comes from a tier 2 autolathe, so you need the Autolathe Printer Mod. After that come 12 steel sheets, 5 cable coils and 4 electronic parts.
An IC10 example that only runs it on a charged battery is in Deep miner and automatic mining.
