Superalloys in the Advanced Furnace are a test of patience: narrow windows for temperature and pressure, and heaven help you if you miss them. The Furnace Mod brings all five superalloys to the regular Furnace, with generous conditions that are the same for all of them.
What the mod does
- Adds five recipes to the Furnace: Astroloy, Hastelloy, Inconel, Waspaloy and Stellite.
- Mixing ratio and yield stay the same as in the Advanced Furnace.
- The same conditions for all: temperature 1000 to 99999 K, pressure 1000 to 99999 kPa, so from 1 MPa.
- The recipes also apply in the Advanced Furnace, in addition. The original recipes are kept.
- Superalloy reagents can be smelted back into ingots in the Furnace.
Requirements
- Stationeers. No BepInEx, no LaunchPad needed: the Furnace Mod is a pure XML mod that the game loads by itself.
- If you use LaunchPad 1.0, add it to the active mod pack anyway. Without LaunchPad, activate it in the game's Workshop menu.
Recipes
| Alloy | Mix |
|---|---|
| Astroloy | 50 % steel, 25 % copper, 25 % cobalt |
| Hastelloy | 50 % silver, 25 % nickel, 25 % cobalt |
| Inconel | 50 % gold, 25 % nickel, 25 % steel |
| Waspaloy | 50 % lead, 25 % nickel, 25 % silver |
| Stellite | 50 % silicon, 25 % silver, 25 % cobalt |
All at 1000 to 99999 K and 1000 to 99999 kPa.
How it works in game
- Put the mix into the Furnace, for example 50 steel, 25 copper and 25 cobalt for Astroloy.
- Get the furnace above 1000 K and above 1 MPa. Doing that with fuel gas is regular Furnace handiwork.
- Cast.
The Electric Furnace reads its recipes directly from the game and therefore knows the Furnace Mod recipes as well. In the Electric Furnace T1, superalloys still only work once T1Superlegierungen is switched on there.
Why the recipes are additional
The game compares furnace recipes as a whole: ingredients, temperature, pressure. If one value differs, the mod recipe is added instead of replacing the original. That is why both ways work in the Advanced Furnace, the old one with the narrow windows and the new one. Recipes for the Furnace also end up in the Advanced Furnace automatically.
The mod contains no unchanged copies of base recipes. That way, a game update that adjusts the game's recipes cannot be overwritten by old values from the mod.
IC10 and console
No devices of its own, so no IC10 values and no console commands. Towards IC10 the Furnace behaves as always.
Multiplayer
In multiplayer the server sends its recipe list to all players. The server's recipes are what counts. So the mod belongs on the host or server. If you want to be on the safe side, install it for everyone anyway.
Known limitations
- Only the five superalloys, no other recipes.
- The original recipes in the Advanced Furnace remain, they cannot be removed with an XML mod.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Furnace does not cast a superalloy | below 1000 K or below 1 MPa | raise temperature and pressure |
| Recipe missing entirely | mod not active, or an old, broken version | activate the mod in the pack or Workshop menu, update to version 1.1 |
| Does not work in multiplayer | server does not have the mod | install the mod on the host or server |
About version 1.1: the older version had an error in the XML file, a nested comment. Because of that the game discarded the whole file, and the mod did nothing. 1.1 fixes that.
