The Multi-Tool combines nine game tools on one grip: wrench, screwdriver, crowbar, wire cutters, hand drill, angle grinder, arc welder, mining drill and labeller. There are three tiers – Standard, MK2 and Heavy – with one, two or three battery slots and a slot for the lamp attachment. Model labels, item names and texts appear in English or German, depending on the game language.
Controls
| Input | Effect |
|---|---|
| Hold C + mouse wheel | switch tool, wheel up = next |
| C + right click (or C + O) | lamp attachment off, near, far |
| Right click | as in the game: mining drill and labeller on/off |
| Tool inventory window (click the hand) | buttons Next tool, Previous tool, Lamp, slots for batteries and lamp |
| Battery or lamp in the other hand on the tool | goes into the next free slot |
C is the game's quantity key. If you rebound it, your key applies – the game and the mod then show that key everywhere. To use a different key, set Modifikator.
Where the game shows the controls:
- Key hint above the hand: while the Multi-Tool is in the active hand, a subtle hint reads "C + mouse wheel – switch tool" and "C + right click – lamp off/near/far" (switch off with
HinweisAnzeigen). - First pickup in each game session: a short overlay explains both combinations and the inventory window buttons.
- Tooltip: looking at the tool (on the floor, in the hand, in the inventory) shows tool, batteries, lamp and both combinations – even without "Extended tooltips".
- Stationpedia: its own "Controls" section with your key binding.
- Overlay on switching: tool, tier, battery level and lamp. While C is held it also shows the previous and next tool.
On the model you see the tool by its head, the coloured glow ring and the name plates on both sides. A switch takes a moment because the game exchanges the item. While the tool is running (drilling, welding) it does not switch.
Overview
| No. | Tool | Counts as | Power | Glow ring |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Wrench | wrench | no | orange |
| 2 | Screwdriver | screwdriver | no | yellow |
| 3 | Crowbar | crowbar | no | red |
| 4 | Wire cutters | wire cutters | no | pink |
| 5 | Hand drill | hand drill | yes | cyan |
| 6 | Angle grinder | angle grinder | yes | violet |
| 7 | Arc welder | arc welder (replaces the welding torch) | yes | blue |
| 8 | Mining drill | mining drill (Heavy tier: heavy mining drill) | yes | green |
| 9 | Labeller | labeller | yes | white |
In each mode the Multi-Tool is the matching game tool. Everything the game allows with that tool works: build and deconstruct steps, repairs, prying doors and hatches, removing cables and pipes, configuring logic devices with the screwdriver, anchoring portable devices, renaming and setting values with the labeller, mining and flattening terrain, melting ice and welding hatches.
Requirements
- Stationeers 0.2.6428, BepInEx 5.4.23.5, StationeersLaunchPad 1.0, see Installation
- Mod in the active mod pack
- Multiplayer: server and all players
Crafting
Everything is made in the Tool Manufactory. Batteries are not included; small, large and nuclear battery cells fit.
| Item | Tier | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Multi-Tool | 1 | 26 iron, 8 copper, 1 gold, 10 steel, 10 solder, 10 electrum, 5 invar |
| Multi-Tool MK2 | 2 | 26 iron, 8 copper, 1 gold, 10 steel, 10 solder, 43 electrum, 5 invar |
| Heavy Multi-Tool | 2 | 23 iron, 6 copper, 1 gold, 20 steel, 20 solder, 43 electrum, 15 invar, 5 astroloy, 5 stellite |
| Lamp Attachment | 1 | 2 copper, 2 gold |
The Multi-Tool costs as much as the nine single tools, MK2 as much as the MK II tools. Heavy swaps the mining drill for the heavy one and adds a reinforced housing.
Tiers
| Value | Standard | MK2 | Heavy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Model | normal game tools | MK II tools | heavy mining drill, rest reinforced |
| Tool speed | +0 | +0.1 | +0.3 |
| Duration of a build step | 100 % | 91 % | 77 % |
| Power per build step (power tools) | 1000 J | 1000 J | 750 J |
| Welding per tick | 2000 J | 2000 J | 1500 J |
| Mining | 0.11 s, amount 0.2 | 0.11 s, amount 0.2 | 0.05 s, amount 0.4 |
| Mining per tick while drilling | 30 J | 30 J | 150 J |
| Battery slots | 1 | 2 | 3 |
| Colour | grey/yellow | blue | dark/orange |
Standard and MK2 values come from the game. Its MK II mining drill mines exactly as fast as the normal one, so the MK2 Multi-Tool does too. A tick lasts 0.5 s. All values are adjustable.
Batteries and lamp
- Only hand drill, angle grinder, welder, mining drill, labeller and the lamp use power. Wrench, screwdriver, crowbar and wire cutters need none.
- Several batteries are shared. Power always comes from the fullest one, so the tool works as long as any battery has charge.
- The LED at the top rear shows the total charge: green above 30 %, orange above 10 %, red blinking almost empty.
- The lamp attachment shines like the game flashlight: near 10 m (70° cone, 80 W), far 20 m (100° cone, 100 W). In your hand it points where you look, lying free it points forward. In belt and backpack it is off and uses no power.

Multiplayer
New items: server and all players need the mod. On a switch the server exchanges the item; batteries, lamp attachment, lamp setting and name move along. The lamp setting is saved. Works on dedicated servers. See Multiplayer.
Good to know
- The Stationpedia shows one entry per tier. The crafted item starts as wrench.
- In the recycler every mode returns the same, half of the recipe.
- A name given with the labeller stays in all modes.
