v1.3.2 IC10 Editor Tablet

The tablet is an IC10 toolbox right inside the game, in German and English. It checks code as you type, explains every error, simulates programs with the game's real interpreter and knows all devices, hashes and commands. For beginners writing their first program, and for everyone who is done flipping through the Stationpedia for hashes.

Requirements

  • Stationeers 0.2.6428, BepInEx 5.4.23.5, StationeersLaunchPad 1.0, see Installation
  • Mod in the active mod pack
  • Only on your own computer. Server and other players do not need it.

No recipe, no part: the tablet is available right away.

Opening

  • The "IC10" button above the helmet slot. Hold Alt and click. If inventory windows are open, the button sits directly above "Close All".
  • Or press F8.

If you are holding a chip or looking at an IC housing, the tablet loads its code.

Checking: the code editor

  • Line numbers start at 0, as in the game.
  • Errors in red, warnings in orange, the faulty spot is underlined.
  • Suggestions as you type: commands, LogicTypes, aliases and labels. Tab accepts the suggestion.
  • A help bar shows syntax, explanation and an example for the current command.
  • °C instead of Kelvin: type 25C or -25C and press Space, and it becomes 298.15 # 25 C. There is also a °C window with ready-made code.
  • Every error comes with an explanation and a fix, including the silent traps: program runs into nothing, no yield, NaN from Average, umlauts in HASH and more. See also Common IC10 Mistakes.
  • Device check with real game data: the tablet warns you when a device cannot read or write a value at all.
  • Write to chip works like the game's own editor, so it works in multiplayer too.

Simulator

The simulator uses the game's real IC10 interpreter. What runs there also runs on the chip.

  • Start, pause, step and tick
  • Breakpoints
  • Registers and stack in view
  • Virtual devices on d0–d5 and on the data network, with exactly the values of the real device
  • Log
  • Take over real devices including their current values with one click

Templates

Ready-made programs to adapt:

  • Hold temperature
  • Hold pressure
  • Generator when the battery is low
  • Fill tank
  • Light on presence
  • Air alarm
  • LED display in °C
  • CO2 filter
  • Flashing light
  • Basic skeleton

You enter device names and values in °C, kPa or %, and the tablet builds live-checked code from them in define/alias/lbn style, exactly as described in How I Write IC10.

IDs and hashes

  • All devices and items with a picture, searchable.
  • Filters: logic, structures, items, kits, favourites and from mods with the mod name.
  • Copy or insert the hash, HASH("…") or define, also several at once.
  • Code builder: pick device, value, read or write and name, and out comes a finished line like lbn r0 GASSENSOR HASH("Raum") Temperature Average.
  • Logic values, slots, crafting (machine and cost), a button to the Stationpedia, straight into the simulator.
  • Hash calculator and hash decoder (number to item or name).

Network

Look at a device or cable, and the tablet shows all devices on the data cable with name, type, ReferenceId and live values. Duplicate names stand out immediately. For each device there are all values and slots and the matching code line to insert.

Lexicon, commands, calculator, notes

  • Lexicon: all LogicTypes with the game's description and which devices support them, SlotTypes, all constants (GasType., Color., Sound. …) with their numeric value, all error codes.
  • Commands: all 154 commands with syntax, explanation, example and traps.
  • Calculator: pocket calculator (with IC10 constants too), temperature °C/K/°F with code, gas calculator (p·V = n·R·T, mixing, filling a room with breathable air, partial pressure, using the game's values), units.
  • Notes: your own notes and code snippets, saved automatically.

Where the tablet saves

WhatFile
SettingsBepInEx\config\dominik1199.ic10editortablet.cfg
NotesBepInEx\config\IC10EditorTablet.notizen.json
FavouritesBepInEx\config\IC10EditorTablet.favoriten.txt

If you want to keep your notes, add these files to your backup.

IC10 and console

The tablet itself is not a device, so it has no IC10 values and no console commands.

Configuration

Through the mod settings in LaunchPad or in the .cfg file:

KeyDefaultMeaning
TasteF8key to open and close
KnopfUeberHelmonshow the IC10 button above the helmet slot
SpracheAutomatischAutomatisch (automatic, follows the game), Deutsch (German) or English

UmlauteUmschreibenoffshow ä/ö/ü as ae/oe/ue in case the font cannot display them
Bilderonpreview pictures in the lists
StilHinweiseonalso show style hints (registers without alias, raw hash numbers …)
CelsiusUmrechnenon25C + Space turns into Kelvin
CelsiusKommentaronalso add # 25 C at the end of the line

Multiplayer

Only needed on your own computer. Server and other players do not need the tablet. In LaunchPad it can be marked as a client-side mod, then it also loads on servers without the mod, see Mod Packs.

Known limitations

  • In the game, hcf sets the chip on fire. The simulator does not execute the command, it only reports it in red in the log. On the real chip it burns anyway.
  • The checks know game version 0.2.6428. After a big game update, new commands or LogicTypes may be missing until the tablet is updated.
