Anyone who has ever searched for their own base on Vulcan knows why this mod exists. The World Map shows the relief of the whole planet, all players live, and markers you set just for yourself or for everyone. On top of that there's a minimap and a navigation target in the HUD.
Where it works
On all planets with a map image: Mars, Venus, Vulcan, Europa, Moon, Mimas, and on mod planets that bring their own map image. Worlds without a map image (the tutorials) only show the grid.
Requirements
- Stationeers 0.2.6428, BepInEx 5.4.23.5, StationeersLaunchPad 1.0, see Installation
- Mod in the active mod pack
- No parts, no recipe: the map is there right away.
The large map
Open and close it with Ctrl+M. Esc closes it as well.
- Shows the relief of the whole planet (4 × 4 km) with a metre grid, scale, north arrow and the edge of the playable area.
- North is up, matching the compass in the helmet. Can be switched off, then +Z is up.
- While you're typing in the map window, your character stands still.

| Symbol | Meaning |
|---|---|

| grey arrow | player offline |
| cross | player dead |
| custom icons | rovers, landing pads, beacons that are switched on |

Sidebar
- Player list with distance. Clicking a player zooms to them.
- Marker list with search, navigation target and editing.
Markers
- Left-click on the map or use the "Marker at my position" button.
- Enter a name, pick one of 8 colours and one of 6 icons: dot, diamond, house, warning, cross, flag.
- Tick "Visible to all players" or leave it unticked.
Good for ore veins, ice fields, crash sites, bases and the spot where your rover is still sitting.
Private or shared
| Type | Who sees them | Where they are stored |
|---|---|---|
| private | only you | on your machine in BepInEx\config\Weltkarte\ |
| shared | all players | by the server in the save, as the entry Weltkarte.json |
"Save as new station" takes your private markers along into the new station.
Navigation target
A marker set as the navigation target always appears in the HUD with icon, name and distance. If it's outside your field of view, an arrow at the edge of the screen shows the direction. Other markers appear in the HUD once you're closer than 250 m (adjustable).
Minimap
A small map in a corner of the screen, with a north indicator, view direction and distance to the navigation target.
- Off by default, because the game's messages appear in the top right.
- Ctrl+Shift+M shows and hides it.
- Corner, distance from the edge, size and displayed area (default 600 m) are adjustable.
IC10 and console
The World Map has no devices, so there are no IC10 values and no console commands either.
Configuration
File: BepInEx\config\dominik1199.weltkarte.cfg, or via the mod settings in LaunchPad. Every player sets these for themselves, only MaxGeteilteMarker counts on the server.
| Key | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| TasteKarte | Ctrl+M | key combination for the large map |
| TasteMinimapUmschalten | Ctrl+Shift+M | minimap on/off |
| NordenOben | on | north up like the helmet compass; off = +Z up |
| FahrzeugeUndLandeplaetze | on | show rovers, landing pads and beacons |
| MinimapAn | off | minimap visible at startup |
| Ecke | ObenRechts | ObenRechts, ObenLinks, UntenRechts, UntenLinks (top right, top left, bottom right, bottom left) |
| GroessePixel | 230 | edge length of the minimap |
| BereichMeter | 600 | displayed area from edge to edge |
| AbstandRandPixel | 150 | distance from the top or bottom edge of the screen |
| MarkerImHud | on | show markers in the world |
| HudReichweiteMeter | 250 | markers appear in the HUD up to this distance |
| MaxGeteilteMarker | 500 | maximum number of shared markers on the server |
Why Ctrl+M and not just M? With M alone the map would pop open while you're typing, for example when naming a device.
Multiplayer
- The player positions come from the game itself. For that the server does not need the mod.
- For shared markers the mod has to run on the server or host. Without the mod on the server there are only private markers.
- Players without the mod can still join, since the World Map doesn't add any new parts.
- Versions 1.x are compatible with each other.
Known limitations
- Without a map image, only the grid.
- If you load a save without the mod, it loads normally. If you then save, the shared markers are gone. Private markers stay, since they're stored on your side.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Ctrl+M does nothing | mod not in the active pack, or key rebound | check the pack, check TasteKarte |
| Minimap missing | off by default | Ctrl+Shift+M or MinimapAn |
| Minimap covers game messages | it sits in the top right | change Ecke or increase AbstandRandPixel |
| "Visible to all players" checkbox has no effect | the server doesn't have the mod | install the mod on the host |
| Map only shows a grid | world without a map image | intended, e.g. in tutorials |
| Shared markers gone | the save was saved without the mod | restore a backup |
